Done and Dusted

Just finished the proofs for Faerie Lord and a bit of a marathon it was. The word count is higher than any of the other books in the series (by quite a bit actually) but they've managed to squeeze it into slightly fewer pages -- 425 in total -- without changing the layout or type face as far as I can see. I've always wondered how they do that. Publication date in the States is now September 18 this year, in Germany probably a little later in the autumn and in Britain early February, 2008.

Another one almost done and dusted is The Wizard's Apprentice, a stand-alone non-fiction title that Faber are bringing out on my birthday (July 5, if you want to send a card) this year. It's a lovely production, beautifully illustrated and I'm sort of excited about it. It tells the real story of wizardry in the world today and gives some of the basic magical training and techniques. Not at all what you'd imagine from reading fiction, but hopefully timely with all the interest generated by Joanne Rowling.

Meanwhile, what started as The Shadow Realm has suffered a bit of a train crash and is being rewritten as a wholly different book. It's all go!

For a man of 250, you look tremendous! On your upcoming birthday will that make you 251, or will you remain 250 forever?

I stumbled across your Faerie Wars series in a bookstore with a giftcard burning a hole in my wallet and thought it was a series both my daughter and I would enjoy. I bought all three books (you should feel special as usually I will only buy book one of a new series) and just finished Ruler of the Realm five minutes ago.

I love your style, your characters are intriguing, and I can't wait to see what happens to Henry next!

Thank you so much for sharing your gifts!

I think I'll stick at 250 -- it's old enough for anybody. Glad you've enjoyed the saga so far.

I know this is not about the faerie wars series, but i dod not know where else i could get this to you.

I just want you to that if you ever made a movie of the faerie wars books, it would be better than harry potter by far, and i would go see it about 12x and buy the movie when it comes out. All of them. i dont know if you ever thaought of doing so, but i think it would be the the best ever. Please consider it

Great books =D

Its cruel living in england, the release date is february, though it says december on amazon.co.uk.

Cant wait for Faerie Lord!

Funny how I didnt expect to like them at first because of the subject, but I shouldnt have judged a book by its cover =]

I hope Book 4 shows more about the romances.

Im guessing you got the same treatment as Fogerty did then, to make it to 250!

From one of the other posters, they mentioned a movie, and it could be good, but it all depends on how well its made. I was disapointed with the movie Eragon for example, though i liked the book.

I didn't much like the Eragon movie either. There are currently negotiations about a movie option on Faerie Wars. Doesn't necessarily mean there'll be a movie, but it's a step in that direction.
